V. Sir Reginald Crawford, who in a donation to the monastery of aisley by James, Lord High Steward of Scotland, is designed dominus Reginaldus de Crawford, miles, etc., anno 1288. He was witness to another like donation in 1294. He was a great patriot, a firm and steady friend of King Robert Bruce, from whom for his good and faithful service he received a grant of lands of Crumshuc in Cunningham, Ayrshire, which had formerly been possessed by John Balliol. Sir Reginald is said to have distinguished himself at the Battle of Bannockburn, and for his services there to have received from Robert the Bruce a grant of the barony of Auchinames and the privilege of adding to his coat of arms two lances, saltire. He got the lands of Crumshuc about 1320. He had issue:S1
