Abstract of will of Rees Cadwalader of Luzerne Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania

Rees Cadwalader of Luzerne Township, Fayette County & Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. To my beloved wife one lot in the town of Bridgeport, a corner of High & Arch Street N. 82 Also to my wife my large folio Bible and a case of drawers, a Bed & Beding, Table, Clothes stand. Also one horse and one cow out of my stock. Also the use of my watch until my son Rees arrives to the age of 21 when it shall become his. Also to my wife an annual dower of sixty dollars to be paid by my son Jonah yearly. Also, if she should lose her riding creature by accident another shall be provided by my executor. My son Asa already having his part or portion of my estate already transferred, I bequeath to him an additional twenty dollars to be paid in one year. To my son Rees various tracts of land. Except three acres which is saved for the use of friends Meeting House. To my son Rees my large folio concordance and legacy of eight hundred forty dollars to be paid by my son Jonah. To my son Jonah, his heirs & assigns, the remainder of the land in town & vicinity of Bridgeport. To my daughters Mary & Edith each the sum of $540, one year after my decease. To my daughter Ruth the lot N. 16 in the town of Bridgeport. To my daughters Rachel and Hannah each one lot of their choice when they come to maturity. My three youngest daughters namely Ruth, Rachel & Hannah. To son Jonah, William Penns works in one folio volume. All my wearing apparel I leave to my three sons to be divided amongst them. Appoints Joseph Townsend of Westland, Washington County, and my two sons Asa & Jonah to be Executors. Signed this twentieth day of the ninth month 1798. Witnesses: Francis Townsend, Suiah* Townsend, Benj. Townsend. "This is to certify that I am consenting to the last will of my late husband Reed Cadwalader being proven witness my hand thie 24th day of 11 month 1800. Elizabeth Cadwalader."
