  3.   Wheeler probably copied from the older Source:Secomb, Daniel F. History of the Town of Amherst, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, p. 822, which gives the same information about Rebecca. Source:New Hampshire, United States. New Hampshire Marriage Records, 1637-1947, [1], appears to show the marriage on this date to Jacob Winter, but this appears this is a mistranscription of McIntire (perhaps the 'c' was mistaken for a curlicue, the remainder then looking like Winter).

Fitchburg, Mass., p. 2:367 has a death record for Jacob McIntire in 1828. One would guess (merely by appropriate age) this might be the Jacob McIntire, s/o Malichi and Lucy McIntire of Charlton, b. 1782 (Charlton VRs, p. 66).

The History of Amherst, above, adds the useful tidbit that the 2nd husband is Mr. Spaulding of Chelmsford. The vital records there p. 322, show the 1830 marriage of Andrew Spaulding (age 70) to "wid. Rebecca McIntire", age. 50 (so born about 1780). Page 442 shows the death of Rebecca Spaulding, the second wife of Andrew, on 27 Nov 1844 (Andrew died 1840, age 79). Page 413 records the deaths (from gravestones) of Eda McIntire, d/o Jacob and Rebekah, in 1833, age 24; and Nathaniel T. McIntire, s/o Jacob and Rebekah, in 1829, age 18.

This appears to present a coherent story, but more evidence would be useful...
