13 Oct 1778: Elisha Bennett of Lancaster Yeoman for £47-10-00 conveys to Samuel Wilder Jun'r of Lancaster Gentleman his share in the parcel of Land in Lancaster which was set off to my Grandmother Rebecca Wilder as her Dower in my Grandfather Oliver Wilder's Estate.

  3. Source:Schutz, John A. Legislators of the Massachusetts General Court, 1691-1780, p. 160, says the widow of Oliver Wilder married 3d Joseph Wilder (presumably following other sources), and gives her a death date of 1789 based on that piece of misinformation. However, Joseph Wilder married a Rebecca Lock in 1775, and there is no evidence that the widow Rebecca Wilder married a Mr. Lock. Instead, Joseph Wilder's widow was Person:Rebecca Richardson (12). Further, the death date in 1789 has an age of 80 which does not agree with this Rebecca's birth in 1704. The deed cited, selling part of her dower in 1778 does not label her deceased, but it is not a quitclaim, rather an outright conveyance free of dowers and other encumbrances, so she must be.
