Forbes Jr., Raymond Franklin, 91, of Newport Beach, passed in his sleep on May 17, 2017. He was born on December 15, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Raymond F. Forbes Senior and Marion Crumrine Forbes. He was married for 53 years to Louise Wanner Forbes who passed before him in 2000. He graduated from Purdue University, served in the Navy during WWII, and worked for many years for Beckman Instruments. He was a wonderful father and avid hobbyist, who enjoyed ham radio, oil painting, building home electronics and flying light planes including two he built in his garage. He loved to travel to the Far East and Europe and national parks such as Yosemite. He was the beloved father of three children, Cynthia Webster of Atascadero, Ray Forbes 3rd of Brentwood and Laura Forbes of Newport Beach. He is also survived by his brother James and sister Fran who live in Washington, and brother Robert who lives in Michigan. He loved his children as well as his 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by family and friends. There will be no public service.
