Raymond H 'Ray' Baker

Raymond H "Ray" Baker, 70, of Risingsun, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday morni ng, Nov. 5, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Fostoria, to Hubert N and Kathryn (Mabus) Ba ker. He married Marilyn "June" Gorrill Sept. 6, 1952, in St. Wendelin Cath olic Church in Fostoria. She survives in Risingsun. Also surviving are: a son, Kenneth L (Mary) Baker of Risingsun; two daught ers, Mrs. Charles (Denise A) Conrad of Gibsonburg and Mrs. Gary (Debor ah G) Hofelich of Genoa; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildre n; a brother, Edward Baker of Wayne; and four sisters, Mrs. Wallace (Ma ry Jo) Wagner of Wayne, Mrs. Robert (Regina) Dibling of Fostoria, Mrs. Edw ard (Marge) Reinhart of Kansas and Mrs. Al (Joyce) Spencer of Burgoon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Marilyn Baker; a daugh ter, Dana Baker; and three brothers, Robert, Thomas, and James Baker.

Ray was a life-long farmer, who loved dancing, gardening, and woodworki ng and a 1950 graduate of Montgomery High School in Wayne. He was a Kore an War Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Millersville; Life memb er and officer of American Legion Post 183, Color Guard and Calf Club in P emberville; life member and trustee VFW Post 421 in Fostoria; Fraternal Or der of Eagles Aerie 430 in Fostoria, Toledo's Swiss Men's Society; memb er and served on the Board of Directors Soil and Water Conservation of San dusky CO; member and served on the Board of Directors Sun Grain Elevator A ssn., in Risingsun; OH Cattleman's Assn., National Farmers Organizatio n; OH Corn Growers; and OH Soybean Growers Assn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Chur ch in Millersville with Father Ted Miller officiating. Burial will be in S t. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Millersville, with military honors.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, at the Hoening Funeral in Fostoria; a nd one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. A Christian wa ke service at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
