TRAVERSE CITY - Raymond W. Ansorge, 86, of Traverse City, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Maple Valley Nursing Home. Born Nov. 17, 1917, in Traverse City, he was the son of William and Sophia (Kubesh) Ansorge, who preceded him in death. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Traverse City and had a 100 acre farm, of which 55 acres was fruit. He enjoyed farming as well as old cars and tractors. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was devoted to God through prayer. Raymond also was a member of Farm Bureau. Raymond is survived by his former wife, Audrey; and their 10 children, Christopher Ansorge, Cindy Rutherford, Julie (Tim) Schreiner, Richard (Cyndi) Ansorge, Anthony (Susan) Ansorge, Laurie Schaub, all of Traverse City, Gary (Roxanne) Ansorge of Cadillac, William Ansorge of Fife Lake, Janet (Charles) DeClarke of Holt, Mary (Brian) Wheeler of Big Sky, Mont.; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine (Henry) Claus of Saginaw; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. James Hayden serving as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Carmelite Monastery or the Father Fred Foundation. Arrangement are being handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. |
