Ray Magie Tullis

Corporal (serial #36828256), U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II. Died July 20, 1945, MIA, during his first aerial mission to Japan. Corporal Tullis was a radar gunner on a B-29 attached to the 73rd Bombardment Wing based on Saipan. The plane and entire crew disappeared never to be heard from again. A year later he was presumed dead by the military (on July 21, 1946). He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Air Medal. His name is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was in the 877th Bomber Squadron, 499th Bomber Group.
