He graduated from the Morris High School in 1909, attended American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, 1908-11, and graduated from Conn Band Directors' School, Chicago in 1903. He was band director of various high school bands 1930-38. For some time he operated a music shop at LaSalle, Ill., and later at Kewanee, Ill. He was president of the Illinois State Piano Accordion Band Association. He had seven piano accordion bands under his direction, with six assistant teachers giving private lessons to 300 pupils. His bands have won first place in many contests.
