Reddish was born in Franklin County, Ky., December 17, 1815, the son of Ransom and Mary (Butler) Reddish, the former a native of Stafford County, Va. The mother died when our subject was but a child. Their children are Frances A. (deceased), Mary B. (deceased) and John B. The father's second wife was Mary A. (Richardson) Hall. They had an infant daughter, deceased. The father came to Lewis County in 1830, and entered what was known as "the Indian town," four miles from Monticello, where he died in 1837."
