RALPH W. WITMER, 89, of Leo, died Monday evening, Dec. 29, 2008, at home on his farm, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 5, 1919, in the same home he died, to the late Myron and Irene (Kruse) Witmer. Mr. Witmer was a lifetime farmer. He married Agnes Graber Aug. 25, 1940, in the Leo Mennonite Church; she died Aug. 6, 1997. He was a member of County Line Church of God and had also attended North Leo Mennonite Church for many years. He is survived by five daughters and four sons- in-law, Deloris Martin of Harlan, Lois and Sam Schwartz of New Haven, Donna and William Miller of Wayland, Iowa, Karen and Earl Jacquay of Leo and Janice and Lanny Kimes of Middlebury; 20 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Lee Miller; and two sisters, Edith Witmer and Olive Kryder. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at County Line Church of God, with calling one hour prior at the church. Rev. Mitchell Kruse and Rev. Bob Herman officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial in Leo Cemetery, Leo. Memorials to County Line Church of God or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
