Randy I was looking thru some of my e-mails this week & may have came across the parents of Jenny Shelton. In a query to the Shelton-L message board. A lady states that the only child of Palatiah Shelton & Mary (Harbour?) is Gabriel Shelton. And the children of Palatiah Shelton & (Ann?) are Jenny, Sariah, & Palatiah. The information was obtained from the (Gart Book) purchased from The New England Historic & Genealogical Society. Palatiah would be Ralph Shelton III's brother. Susanna was Ralph III's wife.Cuthbert Shelton is the only proven child of Ralph & Susanna, although there are many more suspected. Ralph III I am pretty sure is my 5th Grandfather. Hope this helps. After five years of intensive research and help from many people (all relatives in some way!) I am sure by a preponderance of evidence that Richard is a son of Ralph III. There is absolute proof that Ralph III was the father of Cuthbert and that he was also the father of Judith Shelton Williams and Polly Shelton Williams. I think that he was also the father of Nancy Shelton who married William Street in Grainger and then died. William Street remarried Eliza Burnett - and Richard and Temperance named their daughter Nancy the same year as Nancy died. Unfortunately Bible records show that young Nancy died before Richard, Temperance and Family moved from Grainger to Marion County, Tennessee.
