Ralph was educated at Middle Swan State School, Guildford Grammar School, and Western Australian University. He joined public service in 1926. In 1929 he became private secretary to the Premier, until 1942. He earned a B.A. in 1930. Ralph, C.M.G. 1974, C.V.O 1954, B.A., Dip. Com., became Under-Secretary Premier's Dept. an Clerk of Executive Cl., W.A., since 1945. He became Public Service Commissioner, W.A. in 1965 and Chairman of the Public Services Board, W.A. from 1971 to 1974. Ralph was also chairman of the WA Tourist Development Authority, 1959-74; State Government Representative on Council of Perth Commonwealth Games 1962; State Director of Visits to WA of H.M. The Queen and other royal visits, 1954 and 1963. In 1950 and 1955 Ralph lived at 289 Salvado Road, Floreat Park, WA. In 1959 to 1971 he lived at 8 Rosecommon Road, Floreat Park. From 1974 to 1980 he lived at 3 Marapana Road, City Beach, WA 6015. Ralph enjoyed tennis, bowls, and gardening. He was a member of the Council of National Trust, WA, and of the Asthma Foundation, WA, Executive Committee. ▼References
