BIRCH RALPH

On Friday, July 12, 2002, Ralph Birch, age 81; beloved husband of Velma J. (Duffy) Birch of Avalon; also survived by loving children, Mark S. Birch & his wife Yasuyo of East Stroudsburg, PA and Debbie E. Ritchart & her husband Wayne of North Fayette; grandchildren, Christine Palermo & her husband Scott, Jessica Birch, Kevin Ritchart & Doug Ritchart; great-granddaughter, Sarah Palermo; a brother, Richard Birch; a sister, Martha Schramm; brother-in-law, Albert Duffy; and sisters-in-law, Minnie Duffy & Irene Brown; preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Jess, Fred & Bill Birch; sisters, Florence & Alice Birch, Helen Umbel, Evelyn Park & Ruth Fiser; and brother-in-law, Robert Duffy. Mr. Birch was retired from the D. L. Clark Candy Company where he had been a candy maker. Later in life he served as the Sexton of the Church of the Epiphany in Avalon. During WWII he served with the U S Army's 7th Division Infantry. He received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action on Okinawa. Friends invited Sunday 12-4 & 7-9 pm in the THE ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC. A GOLDEN RULE MEMBER FIRM. 1014 California Avenue Avalon, (North Boros), where Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning at 11:00.
