Rachel E. Miller, 74, of Buckstown Road, Stoystown died July 29, 1998 at Somerset Hospital. Born May 28, 1924 in Stonycreek Township, daughter of Ezra and Sadie (Martin) Scott. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Paul R.; granddaughter, Rebekah Wilk; and brother Leroy Scott. Survived by these children: Karen, married to Daniel Less, Sheffield Lake, Ohio; Meryl and Neil both at home; Jeannie, married to Lester C. Custer, Berlin, and Mary Ellen, married to John Wilk, Somerset; randchildren: Kevin, Melissa and David Less, Courtney and Allyson Custer, and Amberlyn Wilk. Sister of Glenn Scott, Friedens, and Ruth Browning of Stoystown. Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Buckstown; Shanksville Fire Co. Auxiliary; Will's Grange No. 1690, and Somerset County Pamona Grange. Retired from housekeeping department of Somerset Hospital. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, Viewing from 1 p.m.

Brother of Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Glessner, Shanksville. Former Stonycreek Township farmer. Retired from PennDOT. World War II Army veteran. Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Buckstown; WillsGrange 1690; Somerset County Pomona Grange and Meyersdale VFW.
