Supposededly cousin to Jefferson Davis - President of the Confederate States
Rachel Davis born 1786 in Laurens Co. South Carolina. We believe she and at least 2 sisters, Leah and Stacia/Stacey, and a brother, Clement, were brought by their mother to Christian Co. Kentucky when Rachel was very small.

Her mother, formerly from South Carolina came to Kentucky about 1786 and settled in Chrisian County. We have not been able to find any other record of the mother and have no information on the father, but have found her brother, Clement and possible sisters, Leah and Stacey with marriage information in Christian County Kentucky.
