Preston inherited his father's farm and estate and in turn left it to his son William Paisley.

Preston Paisley's Will, dated 20 September 1836 - Will Book B, file 0735, Guilford County Records, admitted to probate in November 1836. He left his wife "one feather bed and furniture"; his son, William, his land, and his daughters, Nancy and Betsey (minors), each a bed, furniture, horse, saddle and bridle (worth $70-75). His son, William, was to furnish maintenance for his mother and to pay his sisters $100 each for 3 years upon William attaining the age of 21. The Executors of his Will were Col Joel McLean and Elisha Wharton, Esq.; witnesses were Joseph Gibson and John P Hanner.
