Porter Kennedy married and settled in Marshaltown, Iowa. They had 5 kids there. Moved to Denver in 1907-1908. Porter started as loan shark in Denver and later was in 2nd mortgages. He was checker champion of Iowa. He left home at 14 yrs of age.
