Bresler ( Casparus Bresler ) Ondete Zoon van oorledeug Pieter was buried on the Farm ' Bavaria's ' Family Graveyard During the battle of Kalkkrans in January 1902, 13 members of the Boer Commando where killed and 20 were injured, the Commando retreated and spent the night on the farm of widow Bresler, ' Bavaria ' Sadly, a member of President Steyn's Bodyguard, Petrus ( Piet ) J. van der Merwe died of his injuries- he was a member of the Bethlehem Commando and died after sustaining injuries in the Battle of Kalkkrans, Vrede District on 23 February 1902 He together with a 13 year old boy, J. Olivier were buried in one grave next to Pieter's on the Farm ' Bavaria's ' Graveyard. The burial service was conducted by Ds J.S.Kestell References
