    27 Dec 2008.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Elizabeth (Flanagan) Gordon on December 24, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday Dec. 29th, 2008 at the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Avenue North. She is survived by her partner of 45 years, Wilbur Pollock, daughter Cindy (Dean) Peardon and son Bev (Dorota) Bentley, Grandchildren; Christy (Jay) Norrish, Carey (Dax) Langedahl, Jody Peardon (Jeff Stevenson), Ryan (Jen) Peardon, Travis (Alea) Bentley, Braeden Bently. Great-Grandchildren; Jaden Norrish, Tayshia Norrish, Taylor Langedahl, Riley Langedahl, Makaya Bentley and Keenan Bentley. Sister Merle Simpson, Ssters-in-law Dorothy Mitchell, Dora Flanagan and brother-in-law Rob Frazell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Laura, step-father Francis Johnson, brothers Dean, Gerald and Larry Flanagan, Sisters Kae Bear, Joe Burkeholder, Mae Paterson, and Shirley Frazell. Phyllis was born on July 14, 1926 in Laura, SK. She was the fourth born in a family of nine, so from a very young age she found family the most important aspect of life. She looked forward to the days when Dean and Cindy would bring the kids up to Saskatoon so she could spoil them. There was always lots of hugs, uncountable laughs, a warm bowl of homemade soup, fresh biscuits and many treats. A trip to Gramma Phyl's was always lots of fun. When Bev and his family entered her life again, it was finally complete. Phyllis' great sense of humour made her adorable and you couldn't help but want to spend time with her. She was always doing or saying something to make us laugh. A family friend once said, If you couldn't make Phyllis laugh or smile, you knew something was wrong. Phyllis had a love for gardening. When she and Wilbur were on the farm, they had the largest garden around with beautiful flowers and a bountiful crop each year. She loved her fresh veggies from the garden and boy could she cook. Anyone who visited most often left with a full tummy. Phyllis also enjoyed sports. In particular curling and football. She was an avid curler and spent many hours at the Hub in Saskatoon. She loved to watch her grandson Ryan play football any chance she got. If she couldn't be there, then she would tune the radio in. She also liked to watch her other grandchildren and great-grandchildren play their sports. Who could ever forget Phyllis' passion for a good card game? Whether it be with any of her siblings, Wilbur, Cindy, grandkids or friends, she was always up for a game and would finish it once it began. Sometimes she'd be so tired, she could barely keep her eyes open, but she'd finish the game. At Cindy's she had her lucky chair and you wouldn't dare sit in it with Phyllis around. Phyllis made you feel special, no matter who you were. She will be sadly missed by Wilbur, her family, relatives and close friends.
