The Cambridge City Tribune printed Phoebe's death notice as follows:

TOMS - At her home in Cambridge City, on Monday, 10th inst., Phoebe Toms, wife of Edgar Toms, in the sixty-fifth year of her age. Mrs. Toms was born near Elizabeth, New Jersey, in November 1814. Her maiden name was Hull. Her family removed to Cincinnati, O., in the year 1837 where, on July 2d, of that year, she was married to Edgar Toms. In February, 1847, they removed to this place where they have ever since resided, and where her husand still lives. She was the mother of six children, four of whom are yet living. Her funeral took place from the residence, at 1 p.m., yesterday, services being conducted by Elder Bartholomew. The attendance was quite large.s1
