[Note: see Vol. 2, p. 19. It appears that tape obscured the year of birth and the compilers gave their best guess, but were wrong. Source:Bond, Henry. Family Memorials. Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, Including Waltham and Weston (1855), p. 301. gave Phineas's birth date as 12 May 1715. This has two factors suggesting Bond is correct: 1) the record clearly says "12 May", not 12 Mar, and May does not need double-dating, and 2) William is explicitly called the eldest son in the father's probate so older than Phineas.]
