    Philo Swan died Feb 15, 1911 in Ingham Twp of Apoplexy aged 83y10m8da, b.NY, farmer, son of John Swan & unknown (not right!)

    Ingham County Democrat.

    published on Feb 22, 1911 pg 1, col 5 - Philo Swan, an aged and respected Ingham citizen, died last Thurs at his home after an illness of 6yrs, following a stroke of paralysis. Philo Swan was born in the state of New York in 1828. He was married in 1850 & 3yrs later came to Ingham township & settled on the farm where he died, which he had pruchased a few years previous. His wife died and about 1858 he married again and the 2nd wife survives him. Besides the widow Mr.Swan leaves 6 children , 2 aged brothers, James & Alfred Swan and one sister, Mrs.Olive Frederick, all living in this vicinity. The feneral was held from the home Sat at 11am with burial in Hawley Cemetery.
