Notes from Paul J. Moore August 2002:
Phillip Wood moved west to Swan Lake, Center Township, Emmet County, Iowa after their daughter Ella was born in 1873 in Sullivan County, New York. Phillip and his family moved to Iowa when they heard from his sister, Ruth, how bountiful Iowa was.
