Phillip Wood moved west to Swan Lake, Center Township, Emmet County,Iowa after their daughter Ella was born in 1873 in Sullivan County, NewYork. Phillip and his family moved to Iowa when they heard from hissister, Ruth, how bountiful Iowa was.
