Philip Mains last will and testament dated March 20, 1824 presented to court on October 23, 1824 (AR I, p.83)
To wife Margaret, and sons Peter and Jesse, landed property. Wife to have household property.
To eldest son Jesse, 80 acres where testator resides; bed and bedding; three sheep cow.
To son William, $1.00.
To daughter Sarah Fortney, $1.00.
To son-inlaw Joseph [Vann-y], $13.00.
To son Jacob, wearing apparel.
To grandson John [Losey], horse, saddle, bridle, good suit of clothes providing he remains at home until age 21, "but if he leaves the place here and does not behave himself as a dutiful boy ought to do, he is to have nothing..."
To granddaughter Ann Mains, bed, two sheets, blanket, at age 18, providing she stays on the place until then.
To daughters Margaret Rorrick, Susan Shays, and Anna [Van-oy], all money.
Executors: Wife, Margaret Main; Jeptha Dunn
Witnesses: Jepptha Dunn, James Reed, Conrad Fortney.
