Virginia Heslep was educated in Monroe County, she worked for several years for Leckie Coal Co., Fireco, Wv., at this time she lived with the Hubret Whitely -Lucillie, her half-sister--Joan, her niece-- Joan remembers her as being great fun. Jinny, as Virginia was called, was a very outgoing person, talent in music--entertaining to be in her company. At Fireco she met and married Phillip C. Gatehouse. He was a meat cutter and store operator. He was killed by autombile accident , Aug. 27, 1970. They had two children--James Conrad, and Connie Sue.
