    Philip Henry Heller, was born in Holmes county, OH, Oct. 30, 1843 and when a young man came to Goshen, He worked on several farms in this vicinity and Dec. 31, 1867, was united in marriage with Priscilla Wohlford by E. G. Chamberlain, J. P. in this city. For several years Mr. and Mrs. Heller managed the county infirmary, then located southeast of Goshen on Elkhart prairie. Mr. Heller was superintendent of the farm when the cell house was destroyed by fire, loss of life resulting. The family spent some time in the west, returning to this county and farming land along the Elkhart river about a mile east of Dunlap. Mrs. Heller died June 29, 1911. For about four years Mr. Heller had made his home at the Vannasdale residence. He spent considerable time in traveling about this section visiting his children. Surviving are one son, Samuel G. Heller of near Dunlap, six daughters, Mrs. Ella Davis, Mrs. Susie Hendricks and Mrs. Martha Evans of Toledo; Mrs. Mabel Halstead of Indiana Harbor; Mrs. Philip Smith of Dunlap and Mrs, J. O. Vannasdale of Goshen: his father, George Heller of Auburn, one brother, Dewitt Heller of Auburn and two half brothers. Edwin and George, whose residences are unknown. Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.
