Born in Bienville parish from G W Buie an Eliza draper in 1876. He was the youngest of three sons. Willie or W J Bowie b 1864, an John Bowie abt 1870 all show in the 1880c of said parish. G W Buie is a Hossler at that time in the 1880c, or one who cares for horses at a Inn or one who attends Train Cars at a Juntion Station. G W Buie is 64 years of age an Eliza is 42. His parents were married in March of 1863. A month or so before the Siege of Vicksburg.

He is married in 1896 of July to Sallie Holland of same said parish. Rev. Mansfiled attending. Months later Sallies mom dies in Sept of the same year . George william bowie is bornin 1898 an in the 1900c of same parish we see Both Sallie an D P Bowie ,along with infant first born ( George )staying with Sallie's sister, Ruth E Holland Thomas. D P Bowie farms an she attends house. They are boarders meaning they are staying as Guest to a home. Ruth lives next door with her much older Husband Thomas sr, who served in the Civil War an was born in 1840? Ruth is way younger than he. D P Bowie an family is staying with Ruths stepson, Thomas Jr.

From 1900 -1910 we see they have moved to West texas. Knoxs City, Knox County an he works as a farm Laborer . Craton or Clayton the third born dies there at the age of about 6 years of age. Some 15 days before ether Lucille or Bruce Bowies birth. Records of the county show a C C C Bowie death, Knoxs County texas. Yet no other info at this time. Lucille, the only daughter give accounts to Albert Bruce Jr, her Nephew about thoses time as being born in a Dug Out, or he said a House carved into a side of a hill.

From 1910-1920 they moved back home an lived in the Township of Arcadia or possiable Haynesville as Geoge W Bowie enlist into the Military in 1916 from that area at the Ruton Army Recruting Station.

His oldest son George William Bowie b1898 joines the Army in Ruston La. in 1916 an serves oversees in WW1 in France till the spring of 1919. He served in the 28th 109th company E, Nickname Bloody Buckets by the Germans, an nick named Men Of Iron By Genrel Pershing. Upon his return to the Unisted States his regiment was Dis-banded in the spring of 1919, an Re-inlisted under the 50th Inf. No draft card has been found on George as he enlisted before the out btreak of WW1 in 1916. He later shows up in 1930c Ok city Ok. with Hallie an three infant children. He retired in Leadhill Ark. around 1961 an was a Fishing Guide on Bull Shores Lake. Grand dad dies in 1976 in Leadhill, Boone County Arkansas.

In the 1920-1940 D P Bowie an remaining family move often an he works as a farmer. Once they lived in Quitman La. an worked for Davis Brothers farms. Which can been seen on his WW1 Draft card. He is described as Tall, Slender eyes dark an hair brown. They had an association with Claiborne Parish as we see Lucille Marries claude Mayfield, a resident of that area. D P Bowies older Brother, W J Bowie can be seen on thier marriage Liscense of 1896 as a wittness. W J Bowie marries a Widow by the name of Minnie Reeder Rowe with three sons. She lives with her mom also a widow by the Name of Mattie Reeder in Haynesville La. W J Buie came back from wood county Texas in 1906 to Haynesville Township. They marrie in Layfette County Ark which is the next county acroos the state line. He an She were indexded incorrectly as a J W Brice yet she shows as Minnie Rowe. So with all of this said, the Bowies had a association with that area. A note from the submitter,. looking at the land Deeds of that time, we see The Reeder family east of town off present day Hwy 2. Around reeder Creek an Reeder Rd. Down the road is a small community called Gordon. submitter finds it odd D P's oldest son George w Bowie names his son Gordon.
In most all Census research D P an Sara used their middle names or a Nickname instead of their legal birth names. from 1940 to 1963 They lived the old C C C Camp Rdarea. They lived as renters in all of the Censuses.

Davis an Loyd died out of State. Davis or David Jefferson Bowie died in san Diego an is buried there. Loyd, who retired from he Marine Corp died from Lung canser in Bexar County Texas an is buried in Chatham with the others. Bruce A Bowie died in Angola Prison in 1945 an Sara his mom had his body sent back home to be buried in the Cememtary. Sallie died in 1953 in the Charity Hospital in Monroe. D P was attended in his final days (1963)by his one an only daughter Lucille. He passed away in the Township of Haynesville, Claiborn paish living to 87 years of age . An i mite add a Old age for one who worked so hard as a farmer in the days when men used a Plow an Mule.

Clyde the oldest remained close by through the 40 an 60s or at times lived with them. Clyde worked at the local Saw Mill in the 50s an 60s. After his Parents had passed he moved into a Shot Gun Shanny an trapped for fur to make by. Clyde lived till 1976 when he also passed away.

The oldest son Of D P an sallie Bowie,. George w Bowie dies in Boone County Ark Jan 1976 an was buried there in Leadhill. The place of his retirement.
