He was the son of Andrew Able and Mary Christina Schuyler. Philip married Baucha Covenhoven, daughter of Abraham Covenhoven and Ellen Marlett, on 2. Jan. 1809 at Baptist Church, Charleston, Montgomery County, New York; by the rev Elijah Herrick. Philip appeared on the census of 2. Sep. 1850 at Glen, Montgomery County, New York. He was a farmer on 2. Sep. 1850. He died on 3. Dec. 1866 at Montgomery County, New York, at age 87.
