1943: P.F.C. Phil W. Prall, 646TSS Bks 1959, Trucex Field, Madison, Wis. writes a postcard to me (age 1) postmarked June 7, 1943. He says his wife, Olive, arrived yesterday and is going to stay a week. "She has a nice room on the lake and very reasonable too." . . . Then he says, "They are closing the Chicago school to make hospitals out of the hotels. All the men are shipping to Sioux Falls, SD so I guess I was lucky after all." Note: I recall that he had trouble with his ears and couldn't fly, which had been his first choice.

In 1970, Phil was the General Manager of the Haines City, FL citrus concentrate plant of Stokely-Van Camp, Inc. On Oct. 17, 1970 there was a fire bringing hundreds of spectators to the scene of one of the worst fires in Haines City history according to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. Damage amounted to about $500,000. according to Phil.

1971 - In the Yuma Daily Sun, Yuma AZ of October 10, 1971, Golden Y Growers, Inc., has announced the appointment of October 1st of Phil W. Prall as general manager of Growers Citrus Products Co., a division of Golden Y Growers Inc. His picture was also shown. Found online at Ancestry.com.

1973: In an article in The Yuma Daily Sun, Yuma, AZ, of Feb 27, 1973, online at Ancestry.com, Phil is quoted in an article concerning wastes flowing into the Colorado River. "Phil Prall, general manager of Growers Citrus, explained that the company does not dump solid type wastes into the river. He added that the State Health Department and city and federal officials have all inspected the discharge." (article on front page)

From his obit (1982): "He was director of Research and Quality Control for the Texas Citrus Exchange, Mission, Texas, before retiring in 1979."

Phil had two stepsons, Craig and Ronald Jones.
