Philemon Perkins was a son of Nicholas Perkins and Sarah Childers.
He farmed along Springy Branch in Henrico County, Virginia.
He removed to Goochland County, Virginia in December 1746.
Philemon Perkins was appointed sexton of Beaverdam Episcopal Church beginning in 1764, receiving 500 pounds of tobacco annually for his services. His son Abraham Perkins took over as sexton beginning in 1770.
