1877 Kicked to Death by His Team Peters Hall, a well-known and estimable citizen of the town of Galen (near Seneca county line) met his death in a tragic manner on Tuesday afternoon. He had driven to his lot for a load of oats; and in crossing a ditch, the lurch of the wagon threw him off his balance and forward upon the horses heels. The horses became frightened and started to run, kicking the unfortunate man at every step - who had fallen partly crosswide of the wagon tongue, with his feet caught in the tugs; and the team had proceeded a dozen rods or more before his body fell clear of the entanglement. Mr. Hall was dead when taken up. His skull was fractured, one arm and one leg were broken, and he was horribly cut and bruised.
