[edit] Revolutionary War Pension InformationInformation from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 4, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Rust, Peter - entered service 1780 in Bedford County, Virginia, where he resided, in Virginia Regiment; died 3/4/1829 in Burke County, North Caroliha; married there 5/15/1781, 6/1781, or 1782 to Elizabeth Bilieu/Ballew; widow granted Pension in 1843 there abt. age 83; widow had children mentioned but not named; Stephen Balew/Ballew (no kinship given) made affidavit there abt. age 80 then he served in Revolutionary War with soldier in same unit; John Gibbs Conly made affidavit then there in 1844 that he served with soldier in Revolutionary War in 1781-82; Mary Conly made affidavit then there that she knew soldier & family for 75 years in Virginia & North Carolina; widow was granted Bounty Land Warrant #11261 there in 1855 at abt. age 94; query letter in file in 1929 from descendant Mrs. H.C. Groom of McAllen Texas; query letter in file in 19-- from Miss Lucy Smith, Parkersburg, West Virginia, states she was great grandaughter of Revolutionary War soldier George Rust of Westmoreland County, Virginia, who married Mary Crump, their daughter Sarah married Charles Rector (b. 4/24/1776 in Fauquier County, Virginia), & there were queriers grandparents, also Charles Rector's father Benjamin resided in Fauquier County, Virginia near Rectortown & married Miss White; query letter in file in 1833 [1933?] from great great granddaughter Miss Julia Rust, Bridgewater, North Carolina.
