Case 16919: Jacob Parmenter & al. 1775.
[There are two notes signed by Jacob and Peter Parmenter requesting appointment of John Shattuck of Framingham for a guardian. One is dated 6 Jan 1779, the other is undated, but Peter would not be allowed to choose a guardian until 1778 when he turned 14, so probably after that.] 27 Dec 1775: Bond of John Shattuck of Framingham yeoman as guardian to Peter Parmenter a minor aged about thirteen years, Son of Elijah Parmenter late of Sudbury. [Note: John Shattuck also gave a separate bond as guardian of Jacob.] 16 Feb 1779: Bond of John Shadtuck yeoman of Framingham as guardian of Jacob & Peter Parmenter, minors above the age of fourteen (they having signified their choice of him) being children of Elijah Parmenter late of Sudbury.

Vol. 89, p. 184-186.
1 Jul 1785: Jonas Ball of Southborough for £90 paid by Jacob Parmenter of Sudbury releases all rights in 80 acres of land in Sudbury "formerly the lands of Elijah Parmenter of said Sudbury and is now in the possession of his two Sons Viz't Peter Parmenter and the above said Jacob Parmenter". 30 Jun 1785: "We Jacob Parmenter and Peter Parmenter of Sudbury" for £300 paid by David How Jun'r of Sudbury sell 90 acres in the Wsterly part of Sudbury "being a Farm left [to] the said Jacob and Peter by Will by their Father Elijah Parmenter late of Sudbury deceased". "Louis the Wife of the above named Jacob Parmenter and Hannah the Wife of the above named Peter Parmenter do hereby relinquish our Right of Dower". Signed by Jacob Parmenter, Lois Parmenter, Peter Parmenter and Hanah Parmenter.
- ↑ The deed cited shows Peter had married a woman named Hannah by 1785, and the 1830 census shows a Peter that is 60-70, so born between 1760 and 1770, and no other Peter Parmenter seems apparent in the census records of Massachusetts from 1790-1830. So even though the marriage in 1779 would make Peter three months shy of his 15th birthday at the time, it appears it was this Peter.
