Facts and Events
Peter, a fishmonger in London, inherrited his father’s business, and became a wealthy trader, and a purveyor of fish to the Court. An incident involving one of his employees being put in the pillory in Feb 1559 is described in contemporary chronicles (Machyn; Holinshed; and Wriothesley's). By 1576 he was estimated as worth £60; he wrote his will that year, and died before 1578. Peter married Anne SHEPPARD, and secondly, on 2 December 1550, Katherine or Agnes CHOLMLEY of Copenham, Staffordshire, and had four sons and seven daughters. References
