"The youngest son of Edward Hanbury of Old Brentford, Middlesex, England. He apparently travelled a great deal. He was in Virginia in 1639 when William Canhoe claimed land for transporting him. He was in Sandwich, Massachusetts, in 1643, when his name was included in a list of males able to bear arms. In 1644, he was involved in a court case charged with stealing a shirt from John Prebury. He was still in New England in 1646, according to his father's will. He returned to England before 1654 when he appeared in a court case titled Hanbury vs Ivory. (Ivory was his brother-in-law.) No further information." JWH p.4. |
