Quote from the Dierdorff Notebooks by Ira Brown (deceased) and revised by Rodney Trimmer:

"Peter Dierdorff along with George Brown helped to organize the Big Conewago congregation of the German Baptist church founded in 1741. The second west of the Susquehonna River. Peter for many years was one of the ministers there. He served on the standing committee at the annual conference held in 1763 at the Conestoga Church in Lancaster Co. and again in 1783 when the annual meeting was held along the big Conewago in York County on probably his farm. On his burial stone at Dierdorff's Cemetery where he is buried is carved in German, "Eines alten Pilgrim - diener evangel " (An Old Pilgrim and servant of the Gospel) According to his will he left these children:

    John 1740-1792
    Anthony 1749-1818 (married a Trimmer)
    Mary (married Charles Himes)
    Amy
    Katy (married Ludwig Self) "
