Peter Dentz joined the 11th PA Volunteers. He was wounded on 06 May 1864 while fighting at St. Petersburg. He was taken to the City Point Field Hospital, where he later died of his injuries on 1 Jul 1864. Also there was his brother Frederick M., Jr. who died 12 Nov 1864.
