"March 24th 1705/6. baptized Peter Son of Joseph Corning by his wife Rebeccah
    [Woodbury]."
[Note: there appears to be a duplicate on p. 188, on 28 Oct 1739! However, this is the result of an error by the compiler. No wife's name was found in the original baptism of two children of a Joseph Corning and the compiler inserted "Rebecca (Woodbury)" as the wife instead of Hannah (Pride) as he should have. Their births are found in Beverly VRs with a mother named Hannah.]

  3. Peter is not mentioned in the probate documents for his father dated 1723. Given the relatively short interval before the next child (16 months compared to 27 months before Peter since the previous sibling, who lived), it seems likely that he died in infancy resulting in a shortened nursing cycle, allowing for a smaller gap. There is a death for an unnamed child of Joseph in 1712 but given the gap in births about this time, that 1712 death is probably another child dying in infancy.
