Peter Joseph Christophe, 77, of Portersville, passed away in his residence on Monday, December 9, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Born in Portersville on February 27, 1936, Peter was the son of the late George and Johanna Gongaware Christophe. He married the former Margaret 'Peggy' Palmer in November of 1955 and she preceded him in death in 1997. Peter was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School. He worked at Wright's Meat Packing for over twenty-five years. Peter was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Zelienople. He raced stock cars and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and shooting trap.
Peter is survived by his children and their spouses, Jeannie McElwain of Ellwood City, George and Jody Christophe of Portersville, and Pete and Barb Christophe, Jr. of Ellwood City; eight grandchildren: Chad Hamon, Joshua Rennels, Adam Christophe, Cheryl Christophe, Casey Becker, Chelsea Becker, Samantha Christophe and Emily Christophe, and a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Chuck Hogue of Portersville.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthie Miller.
