Footnote 40. Robert Charles Anderson, in The Great Migration Begins, Immigrants to New England 1620-1633, 3 vols. (Boston, 1995), 1:233, comments that a Peter born at Boston in January 1643/4 to "William & Mary Bridg" [Boston Births, Baptisms, Marriages and Deaths 1630-1699, Ninth Report of the Record Commissioners of the City of Boston, (Boston, 1883) 9:15] may be a son of William and Mary Briggs. Although possibly true, nothing in the present investigation confirms that identification.
