"Peter came to Canada after the American Revolutionary War, in 1799. The following year he moved onto the escarpment with his family and settled on Lot 22, concession 3 of North Grimsby, Lincoln County, Ontario. Peter was born 40 miles north-west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, near Reading."[1]

  2. ↑ Maryland is provided as the known place of birth for his brother John, which is consistent with a narrative history written in 1986 in Canada which also provides Reading as the birthplace for Peter. Some caution is needed with this fact and as the Trinity Lutheran records for Reading have survived, they need to be examined.
