Washington Co PA, xxxx Book ? pg ? February 19 1808 Will of Peter Black, dec'd § In the name of God Amen. I, Peter Black of Buffaloe Township in the County of Washington Commonwealth of Penslyvania, being weak of body, [but] of sound mind and perfet memory and Judgment knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and establish this my last will and testament, and first I recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be burried in a decent manner at the discreation of my executor here after mentioned ?as tacking such wordly estate as hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of in the manner and form following and first after paying all my just debts, I order and allow all my personal property and real estate to be sold? and ecualy divided among my children viz. Elizabeth Masters, Samuel Black, James Black, John Black, Peter Black, David Black, Moses Black, Aaron Black, Sarrah Black, Kittron Black, Solloman Black, Joseph Black, and I constitute and appoint my friends John McMullen and Martin Horn to execute this my will and testament revoking all other wills or testaments by me made and accknowledging this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have set to my hand seal this tweth day of February in the year of our Lord 1808. N.B. (<-?) I allow sixty dollars to be given unto Solloman and Joseph and ten dollars to Sarrah and Ketterin and thirty dollars to Moses and Aaron and the two colts which they now claim all these sums to be taken before the estate be divided and the land to be rented for one year and to be sold in that time at the discretion of my executors here aforenamed. The above notation is made before signed as witness my hand and seal this twelth day of February Anno Domini 1808. his Peter X Black mark {seal} Witness present Thomas Brownlee, Jacob Horn, Robt Thompson Washington County § Be it remembered that on the nineteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight, before me Isaac Kerr, Register for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said county came Thomas Brownlee, Jacob Horn and Robert Thompson, the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last will and testament of Peter Black, late of the county aforesaid, deceased, who being duly sworn as the law directs, do depose and say that they were personally present and the said Thomas and Jacob saw the Testator therein named execute this will and that they and the said Robert, heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament. That at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, and that they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the testator and the said Thomas and Jacob in the presence of each other and the said Robert in their presence. Letters Testamentary with copy of will and probate annexed, issued to John McMullon and Martin Horn, the executors within named, who on same day were sworn.
