Found on 1920 US Census for Missoula, Missoula, Montana; ED 156; Sheet 7; Line 53. Marriage certificate indicates parents were John O'Neill and Mary McConville. Obituary, 19 June 1994 Perpetua C. Roberts Perpetua C. Roberts, 91, died June 16 at a Billings nursing home. The daughter of a pioneering family in western Montana's Blackfoot Valley, she was born on Feb. 22, 1903, in Deer Lodge. Her parents, John P. and Mary C. O'Neill, had immigrated to Montana from Ireland in the 1860's, rearing nine children in the Blackfoot Valley. Perpetua, known as Petch, grew up on a ranch near Helmville, Mont., and was educated in Missoula County and Powell County schools, and at Missoula's Sacred Heart Academy and the Ursuline Academy in Great Falls. She had been married to Harvey D. Roberts of Missoula, who died in 1960. Perpetua lived in Missoula until 1954, then moved to Billings where she worked at Cole's Department Store. After retirement, she remained in Billings, in recent years living at St. John's Lutheran Home and Glendeen Care Center. She had been a member of St. Patrick's parish. She is survived by two sons, John S. "Jack" Roberts of Billings and Thomas E. Roberts of Louisville, Ky.; nine granchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Four grandchildren reside in Billings and the others in Federal Way, Wash.; Boise, Idaho; and Las Vegas, Nev. Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist, 1001 Alderson, Ave., is handling arrangements. Rosary will be said at the funeral home at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 20, and the Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Thomas Church, 2055 Woody Drive. |
