She is mentioned in the will of Sarah (Yard) (Wright) Province, as "my well beloved Grand Daughter Permilla Rockhold" (later in the will spelled "Permelia Rockhold"). There is no evidence of who her parents were, but she was almost certainly the daughter of one of Sarah's children by her first husband, based on dates. Many speculate that she was the child of Rachel Hargis or Mary Brown, but their children were granted land in separate bequests (without naming the individual children), and Permelia was the recipient of her own section of land (250 acres). Thus, it doesn't seem likely that she was Rachel's or Mary's child. She could have been the child of Benjamin, or of some other unknown child of Sarah (Yard) (Wright) Province.
