Percy has tapestries in Baldock Parish Chruch, where his mother was born, also in Thriplow Church, where John, his father was born. He was taught embroidery by Miss Pearce of Partridge Hill. He joined the Beds+Herts regiment at the outbreak of war, but was severely injured in France. After discharge, learned tapestry weaving as carried out at Gobelin works in France.
