Percy took over the land at East Pingelly around 1912. He farmed the land (approximately 2000 acres) until the beginning of the Second World War, and was responsible for clearing a great deal of the old large timber. Nettadyne is on rolling, granite country and apparently had some of the largest trees in that area before clearing. He was known in the district for his fine turnout of horses and was considered a good farmer (as told by the current owners of the property in August 2012). He never married. During the war he is listed as working in Perth and also in Albany after the farm was requistioned by the government (possibly for returned soldiers) and retired in Albany.
He did visit England at least twice: (noted: on June 4? he left England on the "Balranald" to go back to Australia) and stayed at Grey Wethers, Ivybridge, Devon, the home of his sister Ida.
He was in England again in 1951 when he left on the "Strathnaver" for Fremantle, and had been staying at 5b, Golden Fleece, Chelmondeston (see his will).
