In DeRuyter, N. Y., May 6th, of disease of the heart, Dea. Peleg Babcock, in
the 58th year of his age. He was a faithful and consistent member of the
Seventh-day Baptist Church. In view of approaching dissolution, he was
perfectly resigned, and calmly and collectedly awaited his departure. Having
experienced the sanctifying and saving power of the Gospel in the heart, and
manifested the same in a blameless life, it was to him an unfailing source of
comfort and support in death. "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright:
for the end of that man is peace." - Psalm xxxvii. 37.
