McLuen, Peggy E. (Hamilton), born July 25, 1925, died March 19, 2010. She was a life-long resident of Wichita. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbur "Red" McLuen and her two children, Stanley Ray McLuen (Jan) and Diane Elaine McLuen (Wayne Ingham). She graduated from East High School and Wichita State University, where she received a Master's Degree. She taught physical education at North High School for several years, before teaching modern dance at Wichtia State University for over 20 years. Peggy was a strong supporter of local arts and artists. She was always studying and learning new skills. As a weaver, spinner, quilter, she made many beautiful treasures. She was also a voracious reader. Peggy led a fabulous life and lived it to the fullest. When you visited her home, you would always be offered a meal and more likely a glass of wine. She believed that joy came from within and that was one of her many gifts she gave to all of us who loved and treasured her. To celebrate her life, a memorial will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens, located at 701 Amidon, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name with , 347 S.
