Peggy Sharpe Simmons June 18 Peggy Sharpe Simmons

BURLINGTON — Peggy Sharpe Simmons, age 76, of 1879 Bellemont-Alamance Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 18, 2007 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was a native of Alamance County, and the wife of 62 years to Harvey Simmons, who survives.

Peggy retired from Lucent Technologies after 20 years and was a member of Harvest Hills Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Walter L. “Butch” Simmons and his wife, Susan, of Burlington, William A. “Bill” Simmons of Burlington; grandchildren, Chris Simmons, Christina Simmons and Carey Simmons Petricka; brother, James C. Sharpe of Greer, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Lee and Sally Ann Lloyd Sharpe.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Harvest Hills Church by Dr. Russell Morris. There will not be a visitation, and at other times the family will be at the residence.
